Welcome to the ASCE New Jersey Section.

Civil engineering is the application of physical and scientific principles, and its history is intricately linked to advances in understanding of physics and mathematics throughout history. Because civil engineering is a wide ranging profession, including several separate specialized sub-disciplines, its history is linked to knowledge of structures, materials science, geography, geology, soils, hydrology, environment, mechanics and other fields.

ASCE was founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide with 4,100 in New Jersey, and is America's oldest national engineering society. ASCE is dedicated to the advancement of the individual civil engineer and the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering through education.

ASCE's mission is to provide essential value to our members, their careers, our partners and the public by developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning and promoting the profession.

ASCE is headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and maintains an office in Washington, DC.
